General Session: IT Trends in Commercial and Credit Union Banking
Stephen Felice, VP and General Manager, Large Corporate Account Segment, Dell Computer Corp., Austin, TX

Credit unions and commercial banks are really technology companies these days, contends Steve Felice. A combination of high stakes, complex regulation, and the rapid pace of the global financial markets make it impossible for people to manage everything. So, banks and credit unions rely on technology and the complex software applications they create to manage their businesses.In light of this reality, Mr. Felice will address critical IT trends that Dell is observing within the credit union and commercial banking sectors of the U.S. economy. They include:

  • Enhancing security and disaster recovery preparedness to protect information and personnel;
  • Lowering total cost of ownership;
  • Increasing server consolidation;
  • Greater manageability across technology platforms;
  • Addressing increasing storage needs, and
  • Leveraging Linux for new projects
