Bank 2.0: How Customer Behavior & Technology are Changing Banking Forever
Brett King, Founder/Chairman, Movenbank, New York, NY

Ten years ago, no one could have predicted that 90 per cent of daily transactions would be electronic, that Internet banking would provide more revenue than branches in most developed markets, that social network conversations would be the primary criteria for whether customers trust a financial institution’s brand, and that growth in mobile banking would be the final nail in the coffin for the dominance of branch banking. In this presentation, Brett King Author of BANK 2.0 will explain:

Why customer behavior is so rapidly changing, including the three phases of disruptive change

  • How financial institution branches must evolve
  • Why checks are rapidly disappearing and cash is next
  • Why your mobile phone will replace your wallet in the next 2-3 years
  • How financial institutions must reinvent themselves or become irrelevant.
  • BANK 2.0 shows how financial institutions can adapt and thrive in this new environment.

“Call of Duty: A Credit Union’s Role as the Backbone of Community Resilience”
Hon. R. David Paulison, former Director of FEMA, Senior Partner, Global Emergency Solutions, LLC, Washington, DC

What constitutes a resilient, vibrant community?  In the face of any type of crisis, having a strong community will inevitably lead to a faster and more efficient recovery.  One of the primary components of a community is commerce, and without the financial services provided by credit unions, commerce comes to a grinding halt.  Therefore, it is the civic imperative of a credit union that serves their community to ensure their viability at all times, both from the perspective of operations and technology.

Join Former FEMA Chief David Paulison to gain an understanding of:

  • The importance of  credit unions and their place as a cornerstone of a vibrant, cohesive, resilient community, both with regard to disasters or simply as an everyday contributor to society as a whole.
  • How communities have responded to the worst disasters imaginable, and emerged afterwards as stronger communities with real-world examples from some of the largest and most expensive disasters in American history.
  • The best practices for rebuilding community institutions and community development after a disaster.

“24 Hours Inside the President’s Bunker”
Lt. Col. Robert Darling, USMC (Ret.)

On September 11th 2001, Lieutenant Colonel Darling was working in the White House Military Office and was initially tasked to coordinate airlift assets for the President’s evacuation to an undisclosed site. However, he was quickly recruited to provide his military expertise and became a liaison between the Vice President, National Security Advisor and the Pentagon. During the next 24 hours he received real time information from numerous government agencies and worked directly with the National Command Authority to respond to the terrorist attacks. Lieutenant Colonel Darling witnessed first-hand the enormity of the crisis leadership decisions that were made that day on behalf of all Americans.
