Call for Executive Committee Nominations

The CUNA Operations, Sales and Service Council is built around the democratic process of elected leadership. To that end, the current Executive Committee members are pleased to announce the Council's call for nominations for seats on the Executive Committee.

During this election two seats will be open for a 3-year term.

A Nominating Committee chaired by Executive Committee Chair Keith Kauffeld, VP Operations, Air Academy FCU, Colorado Springs , Colorado will evaluate and present recommended candidates to the membership for democratic election. The committee will take care to present a slate of candidates that both exceeds the number of vacancies and presents as geographically and professionally balanced a roster as possible.

Nominating Committee members will solicit individuals who have a demonstrated understanding of credit union operational functions, are representative of OpSS Council members and their professional interests, and have contributed to the credit union movement outside of their responsibility to their employing credit union.

To qualify for a seat on the Executive Committee, candidates must:

• be a current OpSS Council member in good standing;
• be willing and able to serve a three-year term;
• be willing and able to attend a minimum of two Executive Committee meetings annually;
• be willing and able to spend at least 50 hours or more per year on volunteer OpSS Council work; and
• have the support of his or her employer to fully participate in required OpSS Council Executive Committee requirements.

Position descriptions outlining responsibilities will be sent to all eligible candidates.

Candidates interested in serving on the Executive Committee should submit an electronic file with the following before June 13, 2008.

• a letter of interest which includes your credit union's asset size, number of members and the number of years you've worked in the credit union industry;
• a current resume; and
• a 100-word campaign statement
• All information should be sent electronically to keith@aafcu.com. The election will be conducted on-line beginning July 12, 2008 and will continue through July 25, 2008. New officers take their Executive Committee seats at the conclusion of the 11th annual CUNA Operations, Sales and Service Council Summit, September 17 – 20, 2008 at the Williamsburg Inn at Colonial Williamsburg Virginia.
