Greetings OpSS Colleagues,

What a ride we’ve hard so far this year! The CUNA Councils have passed the 3,000 member mark. Your OpSS Council is at an all-time high of 382 members. Breaking news and relevant articles are delivered to you on a fresh, dynamic, and user-friendly web site. The inaugural Best Practices Awards was launched. And our 8 th annual conference in Las Vegas is a little over a month away. I think it’s fair to say that our council has had a very successful and productive year thus far.

Speaking of our conference, have you registered for “High Stakes Learning?” High stakes usually involve risk but there’s no risk involved in taking a chance on this year’s conference. One of the initiatives that I am most proud of this year is our Best Practices Awards. A number of insightful entries were received from our members. The winners will be announced at our annual conference and you’ll have the opportunity to see their best practices highlighted as well as those of other entrants.

In closing, I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve as the Chair of your Executive Committee. This first year has been both exciting and fulfilling. Your Executive Committee will continue to move the Council forward to a strong finish in 2005. See you in Vegas!
